Amb. RAO Hongwei Met with Rwandan New Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation

On December 23rd, 2019, H. E. RAO Hongwei, Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda, met with Hon. Vincent Biruta, the new Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda.

Amb. RAO congratulated Hon. Biruta on his assumption of new office. He said under the guidance of the two Heads of State, China-Rwanda relations enter the best period in history. The political trust scales unprecedented height and the bilateral cooperation in various fields reaches a new high. Through joint efforts with the Rwandan side, China will advance implementation of the consensus reached by President XI Jinping and President KAGAME and the outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing Summit, bringing more cooperative benefits to the Rwandan people.

Hon. Biruta said the Rwandan government and people appreciate the great support from China to Rwanda's social and economic development. The cooperative fruits between China and Rwanda are very exciting. Rwandan people in all circles are greatly inspired. As the newly appointed Foreign Minister, I'll take opportunities to further promote the development of China-Rwanda relations in the new era.

Both sides also exchanged views on  the issues of common concern and  key cooperative projects between the two countries.
