Embassy of China in Rwanda Hosted the Handover Ceremony between the 19th and the 20th Chinese Medical Teams in Rwanda

On October 15th 2019, the Chinese Embassy in Rwanda hosted the handover ceremony dedicated to bidding farewell to the 19th Chinese Medical Team and welcoming the 20th Chinese Medical Team. H.E. Xing Yuchun, Charge d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Rwanda, Hon. Dr. Jean Pierre Nyemazi, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Health of Rwanda attended the ceremony, along with Mr. Cao Tiejun, Director of Health Commission of China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Mr. Chao Ke, Dierector of International Cooperation Center of Health Commission of China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Mr. Wang Jiaxin, Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Rwanda, and members of the 19th and 20th Chinese Medical Team.

                                               

                                               

At the ceremony, .H.E. Xing Yuchun, Charge d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Rwanda and Hon. Dr. Jean Pierre Nyemazi, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Health of Rwanda delivered their remarks respectively. They highly praised the efforts and contributions made by the 19th Chinese Medical Team to the China- Rwanda cooperation in the field of health care, and warmly welcomed the 20th Chinese Medical Team's arrival. To reward the 19th Chinese Medical Team, Nyemazi, on behalf of the Ministry of Health of Rwanda, presented certificates of honor to each member of the 19th Chinese Medical Team.

                                               

                                               

So far, the Chinese Government has dispatched 20 medical teams including over 250 doctors to Rwanda since 1982, which was highly appreciated by the Rwandan Government and people. The 20th Chinese Medical Team, composed of 15 members, arrived in Kigali on October 13, 2019. Appointed by the Health Commission of China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, they will provide free medical service in hospitals of Masaka and Kibungo.
