Amb. WANG Xuekun together with H.E. President Kagame Attends the Launch Ceremony of AnJia Construction Rwanda Company Ltd. Cement Factory

On August 3rd, 2023, the Launch Ceremony of AnJia Construction Rwanda Company Ltd. Cement Factory was held in Muhanga Industrial Park,Southern Province, Rwanda. His Excellency. Mr. Wang Xuekun, the Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda, joined His Right Excellency Rwandan President Mr. Paul Kagame and His Excellency Former Prime Minister of Ethiopia Mr. Hailemariam Desalegn to attend the ceremony. Over 200 people attended the event, including Rwandan Minister of Trade and Industry Dr. Jean Chrysostome Ngabitsinze, Minister of Infrastructure Dr. Ernest NSABIMANA, CEO of Rwanda Development Board Clare Akamanzi,, staff of the Chinese Embassy in Rwanda, and representatives from AnJia Construction Rwanda Company Ltd..

The Ambassador stated in his speech that China and Rwanda have promoted closer economic and trade cooperation. Through the exchange of visits between the two presidents in 2017 and 2018, our bilateral ties have grown exponentially, radiating with renewed vitality and strength.  China and Rwanda have fostered all-encompassing collaboration, spanning various sectors. AnJia Construction RwandaCompany Ltd. Cement Factory will pave the way for Rwanda’s self-sufficiency in cement products, reducing reliance on foreign cement imports and expanding the cement market in the surrounding countries. The Chinese side will encourage more powerful enterprises to invest in Rwanda, participate in Rwanda’s economic and social construction, bring more benefits to Rwandan people, and further promote the development of relations between the two countries to a new level.

Subsequently, President Kagame highly praised the two countries’ cordial and good relationship with excellent cooperation. The Rwandan side appreciates the strong support provided by China for Rwanda's economic and social development. To enhance performance of the industry of Rwanda, it is essential to deliver higher quality products and shifts to more sustainable manufacturing practices such as AnJia Cement Factory. The cooperation will effectively promote economic construction and social development in both countries, bringing more well-being to their people.
