Amb. RAO Hongwei Met with Rwandan New Minister of State in Charge of the East African Community

On August 3rd, 2020, H. E. RAO Hongwei, Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda, met with Prof. Manasseh Nshuti, the new Minister of State in Charge of the East African Community of the Republic of Rwanda.

Amb. RAO congratulated Prof. Nshuti on his assumption of new office. He said under the guidance of the two Heads of State, China-Rwanda relations enter the best period in history. The political trust scales unprecedented height and the bilateral cooperation in various fields reach a new high. The cooperation between China and Rwanda in fighting against Covid-19 has made the bilateral connections closer and stronger. Through joint efforts with the Rwandan side, China will advance implementation of the consensus reached by President XI Jinping and President KAGAME and the outcomes of the Extraordinary China-Africa Summit on Solidarity Against COVID-19, bringing more cooperative benefits to the Rwandan people.

Hon. Nshuti said the Rwandan government and people appreciate the great contributions of China to Rwanda's social and economic development, especially the selfless support from the Chinese side since the outbreak of COVID-19. The cooperative fruits between China and Rwanda are very exciting. Rwandan people in all circles are greatly inspired. As the newly appointed State Minister, I'll take opportunities to further promote the development of China-Rwanda relations in the new era.

Both sides also exchanged views on the issues of common concern and key cooperative projects between the two countries.
