The Chinese Embassy in Rwanda Hosted a Film Reception to Celebrate the 52nd Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Rwanda

On November 10, the Chinese Embassy in Rwanda hosted a reception to celebrate the 52nd anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the Peoples Republic of China and the Republic of Rwanda.

H.E. Mr. Wang Xuekun, Ambassador of the Peoples Republic of China to the Republic of Rwanda, and Mr. Phillip Karenzi, the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda attended the reception, and spoke highly of the high level and quality of China-Rwanda relations, and reaffirmed common commitments to push forward this partnership.

Around 150 people attended the event, including representatives from Rwandan government, private sectors, intellectual and the Chinese diaspora in Rwanda. The participants watched a documentary titled Mystery Monkeys of Shangri-La, the work of Mr. Xi Zhinong, the famous Chinese wild life photographer and his team from the “wild China”. It records spectacular stories of a family of Yunnan snub-nosed monkeys living in the Baima Snow Mountain Nature Reserve of China. The documentary resonates among the participants about the importance of protection of biodiversity and environment, to which both China and Rwanda dedicate tremendous efforts.
