Chinese Embassy in Rwanda Signed MoU with Imbuto Foundation

On November 2nd, 2021, Ms. Xing Yuchun, DCM, Political Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Rwanda, met with Ms. Sandrine Umtuni, Director General of Imbuto Foundation. Both sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding, renewing the Embassy’s cooperation with Imbuto Foundation. 

Ms Xing said, through the cooperation with Imbuto Foundation, the Embassy has been providing scholarships to Rwandan disadvantaged students since 2013. Our long time cooperation has yielded to good achievements. This year marks the 50th anniversary of China-Rwanda diplomatic relations. The Embassy is willing to work with the Foundation to move forward and make more things happen, helping more grass roots within our capacities.

Ms. Umutoni said the Chinese Embassy is an important partner to the Foundation in area of education. Embassy’s support has helped and inspired many local students. This year also marks the 20th anniversary of the founding of Imbuto Foundation. The Foundation is willing to deepen cooperation with the Embassy to realize a bigger vision.

Launched by Rwanda’s First Lady Her Excellency Jeannette KAGAME, Imbuto Foundation is a non-governmental organization focusing on prevention of AIDS, helping disadvantaged families and promoting girls’ education.
