Amb. RAO Hongwei Meets with Rwandan Minister of State in Charge of the East African Community

On May 17th, 2021, H.E. RAO Hongwei, Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda, met with Prof. Manasseh Nshuti, the Minister of State in Charge of the East African Community of the Republic of Rwanda.

Prof. Nshuti said, Rwanda and China have been in good friendship and close cooperation. Rwanda thanks China for supporting Rwanda's fight against COVID-19 since the outbreak of the pandemic, appreciates China's position that consultation and communication are emphasized in bilateral and multilateral cooperation. China has worked out a development model that effective for its growth with astonishing achievements; Rwanda will also try to explore a development path suitable for itself.

Amb. Rao introduced China's COVID-19 prevention and control efforts and current situation upon inquiry. Rao said that although China and Rwanda are very different, they share many similarities in various areas. The two sides can learn more from each other and develop together. China is committed to further deepen bilateral cooperation and actively support Rwanda's recovery and development in the post-COVID era.

Both sides exchanged views on China-Rwanda relations, China-Africa relations and other issues of common concern.
